Joyent Supports hi5 and Open Social
MARIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – March 13, 2008: Expands Social Networking partnerships by providing free Accelerators optimized for the Open Social platform.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to efficiently and easily stay up to date on changes or additions to key data in Joyent. Rather than searching through the Connector, RSS brings together all the information you want to stay on top of, and track, in real time.
Every app in the Joyent system allows you to subscribe to an RSS feed for any of its groups. For example, an RSS feed for an email mailbox contains all the message in that mailbox, a feed for a calendar contains all the events in that calendar, and so forth. RSS feeds will work for all types of groups: default groups, standard groups, smart groups, and others’ groups. Moreover, you can subscribe to an RSS feed for any tag, to keep you up-to-date on changes to the set of items sharing that tag.
If your web browser has built-in support for RSS, you can simply click the orange RSS button on the group’s infopanel to subscribe to that group’s feed. Access to Joyent RSS feeds is protected by HTTP authentication; use the same username and password to access these feeds as you do to sign into your Joyent account.
Click the arrow icon on the right side of any tag to a link to an RSS feed for all items that have been assigned this tag.
Note: Depending on which RSS reader you are using, you will need to either click the RSS button to subscribe to the feed, or right-click the RSS button to copy and paste the feed’s URL in your newsreader
