ps pipe grep: Episode 20 (Alles ist gut.)
Ben, Jason and David discuss Berlin and Paris, the Solaris kernel versus userland, BrandZ, startup experience, various movies, the iPhone (a fuller “review” is in the works).
I’m serving the podcast from my BingoDisk disk.
Here’s a direct link to the mp3.
Here’s a non-iTunes RSS feed.
Note: feeds may take some time to update. If you want to listen immediately, grab the direct link to the mp3.
This week’s music: Trance Nation’s (I think…) “Strange World”. (Don’t have a link.)

I notice that all the “ps | grep” episodes are hosted on BingoDisk.
Would you consider BingoDisk a CDN? Is it correct to compare BingoDisk to Amazon S3, CacheFly, etc..?
If not, how would you describe it?
@Jacob: it’s not a CDN. It’s more like S3 but without the proprietary API. The protocol for BingoDisk is HTTP.
@David
Is it HTTP or WebDav. I understand it’s essentially the same thing, though performance is considerably slower for WebDav.
My question would be, who’s the target market for BingoDisk?
Is it web companies who want to store their images/CSS/Javascript on BingoDisk to serve as their main asset.domain.com on their main web site/application?
Or is BingoDisk more so used for backup / external harddrive type of activity?
@Kevin: we see both types of uses. Note, though, the Bingo storage is the same storage available to our Accelerator customers without the bandwidth/latency hit.
the correct artist and title:
push – strange world
