Strongspace and BingoDisk: Outages and Updates
As many of you already know, BingoDisk and Strongspace suffered a major outage several weeks ago. Our CEO posted a statement on our blog reporting on what happened, how Joyent plans to compensate our customers, and what we plan to do in the future with Strongspace and BingoDisk.
We want to apologize once again to our customers for the problems this caused you. While no data was lost, we know the critical role that these products play in your business and personal enterprises, and the seriousness of your not having access for over a week.
We also take heard what you had to say about our response to the outage, and are putting in place measures to improve our communication during a crisis. And to reiterate, the outage and underlying issues that caused it were limited to BingoDisk and Strongspace, and did not affect our shared hosting, shared Accelerator, and dedicated Accelerator customers.
