Welcome Linda Derezinski, Rod Boothby and Blake Burris
We are happy to announce the addition of Linda, Rod and Blake to the ever growing Joyent team.
Linda Derezinski
Linda comes to us from within the Joyent community as the first Accelerator customer, a hard-core Ruby on Rails programmer with a deep SysAdmin background and a love of helping people figure things out. Linda will oversee the Customer Care group while working closely within the SysDev team to help define and expand the Joyent product line.
Rod Boothby
Rod joins us as VP, Platform Evangelism and will focus on sales and account management. His goal is to help our customers in finding the right Joyent product to fit their needs. Rod’s background consists of 11 years in derivatives finance at Wells Fargo Bank and hedge fund consulting Ernst & Young. At Wells, Rod was a derivatives trader and then ran the development of 2 real-time derivatives trading systems. At Ernst & Young, his clients included BofA, Wachovia, Russell, SAC Capital, and Country Wide. He first learned about Joyent when he decided to give up on C++ and learn a little Ruby. Rod has BA Hons. in Economics from Canada’s Queen’s University and Masters in Economics, specializing in financial derivatives pricing from Canada’s Simon Fraser University.
Blake Burris
Blake Burris will be promoting our scalable Cloud Computing platform to the Web and Facebook developer communities where he's been active as an organizer and entrepreneur. Blake is known in the Mac community for his work on CocoaRadio and various Barcamp and DevHouse initiatives. His startup background and knack for new technology is a great fit for Joyent.
Saying goodbye to Basil Crow
And we would like to give a ‘big thank you and wish you all the best’ to Basil who has decided to go back to school to continue his education. Basil has been a force on the Customer Care team and we will surely miss him.
