Change Manager


At Joyent, we pride ourselves in sticking with the technologies we believe in and adhering to high standards for engineering. As we grow the footprint of our public and private clouds, we are looking for like-minded individuals to help us take our products to the next level. All changes made in our cloud environment have an impact on our business and customers. This role will work closely with Joyent and Samsung teams across US and Korea to ensure the changes made in our environment deliver expected results. Candidate location of US or Korea is preferred.


  • Own Change Management Process
  • Provide day-to-day operational support of our change management process
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Operations and Support teams to plan infrastructure deployment and upgrades
  • Evolve Change Management process, goals
  • Review change requests, evaluate deployment risks and hold high standards before submitting to CAB
  • Organize Change Advisory Board, chair meetings with the board and get approvals from everyone on the board
  • Lead our change management with understanding of our distributed system and various services and components that make it
  • Perform incidents triage if triggered by change and bring up any process improvements
  • Willingness to get hands on with CM testing when needed


You’ll be a natural fit if you have:

  • 2-5 years experience building a Change Management process for operations teams from the ground up, or overhauling an existing Change Management process
  • Solid understanding of basic network principles, network topology, high availability and cloud operations
  • 1-5 years experience as a cloud/network/data center operator
  • Experience in AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Understanding of release management, Jenkins, CI/CD tools, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage the interests and concerns from different stakeholders
  • Willing to step up and take on responsibilities when the situation calls for it
  • Continuously act as an “ambassador” for Cloud Operations by evangelizing Cloud Operations best practices, including but not limited to Change Management
  • Bonus: If you can speak English & Korean
