Data Center Operations Manager

We are looking for a strong candidate with a hands-on field experience in Cloud Data Center Operations and Deployment. The Data Center Operations Team is responsible for deploying and operating Samsung and Joyent Data Centers supporting both Public and Private cloud infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for a variety of data center functions, including:

  • Day to day operations, personnel management, new data center build outs, expanding existing data centers and new customer deployments.
  • Writing policies, process and procedures for all aspects of data center operations
  • Create data center diagrams including cabinet elevations, data center floor maps, capacity documentation and other essential diagrams
  • Create data center run books for all data centers
  • Manage data center projects for builds and deployments
  • Manage engineer tickets and project activities
  • Create and present status reports
  • Data center contract management
  • Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics and Operations to build BOM’s for new build outs and deployments.
  • Work with multiple data center and ISP providers as needed to accomplish all required data center tasks.


  • 3+ years in data-center or telecommunications field running operations team and building physical infrastructure with strong field experience.
  • Experience in building out new data centers, including infrastructure builds, power deployments, cage and cabinet builds.
  • Ability to build power reports to track and manage the power infrastructure Strong knowledge of server and network hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor RMA processes
  • Experience managing large shipping and receiving activities
  • Maintaining vendor and contracts management and hardware procurement.
  • Demonstrating ability to prioritize tasks or projects to align with the strategic objectives and with business goals, assign recurring tasks and to utilize metrics to measure effectiveness.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Travel will be required up to 35% of the time.
