Finance Analyst

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our Finance team in San Francisco, CA. This individual will report to the Controller and work closely with the CFO. Joyent is a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung with HQ located in Korea, so this role will interact with the Samsung HQ Finance and may need travel internationally, as needed.

To be successful in the role, you would need to be an excel guru with a killer instinct for business who has extensive experience building budget models from the ground up, able to easily transition from the executive level discussions to executing at the lowest level of detail.

The Finance Analyst is primarily responsible of budgeting, forecasting, cost management and analyzing and reporting on financial data, as well as supporting other functions within the Finance department, as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/analyze accounting and finance data and prepare for reports to senior management
  • Corporate FP&A activities including consolidation of the overall Company forecast, management and executive management reporting
  • Own the annual planning and rolling forecast process for all lines of businesses
  • Responsible for coordinating and communicating with Samsung HQ, and management of HQ directed projects working with cross functional department
  • Responsible for accurate and timely monthly and quarterly closing activities with Finance department
  • Perform fiscal and variance analysis on a variety of issues in support of and to facilitate budgetary decision making
  • Provide Ad-Hoc financial modeling and analysis and other financial management reports
  • Perform other finance or administrative support projects and tasks assigned by Finance Manager
  • Review financial risk impact in contracts of customers and vendors

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years of related experience
  • Must be an Excel guru and excellent in PowerPoint
  • Exceptional ability to build truly dynamic models which multiple scenario options
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving, research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (Korean Speaking a plus)
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills, and flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with executives and cross functionally
  • Global experience desired (i.e. International Subsidiaries)
  • NetSuite experience a plus
