IoT and the Ocean of Data: Bring Storage, Computing Together to Best Navigate

How must our architectures change? When the data becomes not merely "big" but truly colossal, we must consider its inertia: data at rest should remain at rest. That is, instead of backhauling data from storage to transient computing, we must bring our computing to our data. We must be able to run ad hoc queries directly on the (scale out) infrastructure that stores our data.
