Joyent Named to Dell’s Founders 50 for Innovative Companies

Joyent Joins Year-Long Program Aimed At Accelerating Growth For Today’s Most Disruptive Technology Companies

San Francisco, CA – December 17, 2015 – Joyent, Inc., the container-native infrastructure company, today announced it has been named to Dell’s Founders 50 class of 2016. The Founders 50 initiative, founded in March 2014, is part of Dell for Entrepreneurs and recognizes companies that have demonstrated significant growth potential and innovation in their industry. With representation from five countries, 14 industries and over $2 billion in combined funding, Joyent joins Founders 50’s most diverse class yet in the program’s third year.

Founders 50’s companies receive access to personalized support from Dell, technology consulting resources, the Dell Innovators Credit Fund, networking opportunities and industry expertise. Joyent will utilize the resources to boost growth companywide and continue the momentum sparked by the release of Triton Elastic Container Infrastructure earlier this year. Triton is a platform designed to radically simplify container deployments in production at scale while delivering enterprise-grade security, software-defined networking and bare metal performance.

“Dell and Joyent are no strangers to collaboration, and we’re thrilled to expand our partnership through such a prestigious program as Founders 50 at such a critical time in our company’s growth,” said Joyent CEO Scott Hammond. “This recognition comes at time of exponential growth in infrastructure innovation and container adoption, and validates our distinctive container-native approach to virtualization.”

In addition to the launch of Triton, Joyent has doubled down on its support of open source technologies in 2015, continuing its involvement in the Node.js project and joining the Cloud Native Computing Foundation as a charter member.
