What Capabilities Does Triton Compute Provide?

Unified VM + Container Management

Triton provides a single portal and API for managing both containers and VMs. Run Docker and Linux images on VMs or directly on bare metal, with Triton Containers. Run Windows workloads on Triton Virtual Machines.

Simplified Container Operations

Docker-native tools make deploying containers on Triton as easy as running Docker on your laptop. There is no special software to install or configure, and no complex host management is required.

High Performance Options

Docker and Linux images can securely run on Triton Containers on bare metal (without VM hosts), for unmatched peformance and efficiency, and can be dynamically resized with zero down time.

Built in Container Security

Full isolation per container in a multi-tenant environment. Triton leverages Zones, a hardened container runtime environment for security. Patented resource protections enable multi-tenancy, insulate containers from noisy neighbors and ensure that each container gets its fair share of I/O.

Built in Container Networking

Each Triton container has its own unique IP address. User-defined networking makes it easy to create private layer 2 and layer 3 networks to connect everything exactly as you want. Integrated, per-instance firewalls make it just as easy to isolate and protect containers and VMs on the network.

Built in Container Storage

Triton leverages ZFS for high performance storage virtualization. Secure, isolated, resizable filesystems for each container and VM makes storage management easy, and frees container storage from complex VM host dependencies.

Naming and Load Balancing

Triton Container Name Service (CNS) provides universal DNS for your containers and VMs, serving address records (A and AAAA) by instance name & tags. Triton CNS can also be used to address basic load balancing requirements.

Infrastructure Monitoring

Triton Cloud Analytics provides real-time performance monitoring that you can use to uncover bottlenecks in cloud and container infrastructure and accelerate troubleshooting.

Support for any Container Scheduler
